Hey y’all! My motivation behind this segment is to acquaint y’all to some of the most inspirational and fabulous women I know. Each Wednesday you’ll be introduced to another “Belle”, get to know them, and gain a little knowledge. Let’s get started!
Meet: Julia Zheng
Olivia: What do you study in school?
Julia: “Hi my name is Julia Zheng and this fall I will be attending Washington College where I will major in political science major and minor in history. I plan to rush in the spring!”
Olivia: How do you describe your style?
Julia: “My style isn’t trendy or classy but rather tasteful. In the summer, Chinos and a flowy top is my go-to. In the winter, I LOVE chunky sweaters!!! I own the Ralph Lauren and Hilfiger sweaters in all the colors of the rainbow. I don’t wear heels so flats, sandals or riding boots are my best friends.”
Olivia: What’s something that makes you unique?
Julia: “I lived in China for eight years! However, moving to Maryland with my parents is the best thing that has happened in my 17 years. If I didn’t move, then I would have never been able to meet the lovely Olivia who I believe is my long lost sister”
Olivia: What’s your favorite season?
Julia: “I love the winter. The crisp and cold air lets me dream about fluffy snow and snuggling up with coffee by the fireplace. Not to mention winter time= Christmas time.”
Olivia: All time favorite nail polish?
Julia: “I am a sucker for red nail polishes! So Leading Lady by Essie is my holy grail color”
Olivia: What’s something you can’t live without?
Julia: “I can’t live without my family. Yes, it’s a cliche answer but my sisters never fail to make me smile and my parents always shower me with love and support.”
Olivia: What’s your go-to order at Starbucks?
Julia: “The classic caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso is my go-to drink at Starbucks.”
Olivia: Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram?
Julia: “A picture is worth a thousand words therefore Instagram is the social media website I find myself constantly refreshing throughout the day”
Olivia: What are your social media links?
Olivia: What are your thoughts on friendships?
Julia: “I think that friends are key to helping people grow, laugh, and live so never settle for just having acquaintances. A bond between best friends cannot be forced or bought, it just happens. However, take caution and NEVER be afraid to let a friend go because you are afraid of change or losing that person. People come and go, it’ s not the end of the world. To put things into perspective, there are seven billion people in this world. You are special and exceptional enough to find at least one true friend! The way I see it there are two types of friends. Type I are the people who speak to each other everyday and constantly enjoy the others company. Type II are the ones who aren’t phased by silence in a conversation. These people can pick up right where they left off whether its days, months, or years apart. In the end, there are no “wrong” ways to make friends or have friendships. When you find a true friend, you’ll know. I know it’s always a little scary to let people in but remember that you give some and loose some. Entering the new school year, new job or even the new day, take some bricks off the walls that you have built over the years and let people experience the laughs and tears that make you, uniquely YOU!”
