Five Wearable Fall Fashion Trends ♥

Hey Prepsters!

First and foremost: Happy first day of Fall! It’s finally my favorite season and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s time for pumpkin patches, hayrides, and pumpkin spice flavored everything. In honor of the new season, I did a little research for ya’ll; courtesy of Vouge and Glamour. I picked out the five most wearable fall fashion trends, in my opinion, and compiled them all into one super chic, autumn outfit! Enjoy.

Fall Fashion Trends 2014

J Crew Factory Button Down ($65), J Crew Toothpick Jeans ($188), Eddie Bauer Faux Fur Vest ($99), J Crew Leopard Loafer ($230), Kate Spade “Is This Seat Taken?” Pouch, Target Merona “Trust Fund” Wallet ($7), Kate Spade York Stud Earrings ($38), Kate Spade Gramercy Grand Gold Watch ($225)

Yes, you read that right. Fur is making a comeback. I can proudly say that I am obsessed with the fur vest pictured above. This past weekend I was at Marshall’s and picked myself up one, almost identical to the Eddie Bauer, for only $20. Score! A lot of people feel uneasy about this daring trend but I think, if done right, it can jazz-up any outfit while making you look classy and fierce. What more could a girl ask for?

In addition to the fur, I am a huge fan of this trend as well. I’ve been wanting a pair of leopard loafers since last fall (seriously, ask my friends). Similarly to the fur I feel that the leopard can make an outfit fun, fierce, and exciting without pushing the envelope too far. If you aren’t comfortable with being bold try to rock some leopard accessories this fall! It will give your outfit a little extra pizzaz and make you stand out (in a good way of course).

Gold is always a go-to during chilly months. Since the color is so rich it adds the much needed warmth to any ensemble. My favorite way to incorporate gold into my look is by adding golden accessories like watches and earrings. Another fun way to add a little golden glow is by applying a pigmented golden eyeshadow or nail polish.

For me, this is my least favorite of the trends. Plaid has always reminded me of lumberjacks (whom I  think are super sexy FYI). I just don’t think that plaid is very femine. However, you can make it as girly as you want by adding some sparkle and rolling up the sleeves. Plaid can be done but understand that it will either turn out very well (classy-chic-glam) or very bad (lumberjack-she-man).

Statement Bags

This trend is so fun! I am a huge fan of Kate Spade’s quirky sayings so this is the perfect trend for me. I believe that statement bags serve as a quality transition piece between the summer and fall.

Stay Classy (and Happy Autumn!),
