Guys. This was my first time going to New York, ever. I am completely in love with the city. I love the hustle and bustle, the atmosphere in general. However I am not a fan of the variety of mysterious smells. On one street I can get a whiff of the hole-in-the-wall bakery’s mouthwatering danishes and treats. Yet the block across the street smells like straight up ass. I don’t know why that is so odd to me. I went with my friend Lindsey, her mother, and her mother’s cousin. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Time Square and it was perfect for what we needed. However, you had to pay for WiFi (um, no). We checked in around 4pm on August 7th and changed out of norts and our T-shirt’s into something a little more presentable.
Lindsey won Jimmy Fallon tickets so that so that was our whole reason to the trek up to The Big Apple. We headed to the GE Building at 5:30pm to get our wristbands for the show. We had to return in about an hour so we explored the building. Let me say, this building is full of mysteries. Once it was our call time we went through security and queued up in line. I wish I could have taken pictures of the actual set because it seems so much smaller than on TV (cell phones were strictly prohibited). It was odd to watch the behind the scenes dynamic of a TV Show. We watched them film the show that airs on August 8th with Jeff Bridges. Lindsey had an isle seat and she got to high-five Jimmy. PSA: Jimmy Fallon’s hands are crazy soft.
After the show we had dinner at the Rock Cafe in the center of the Rockefeller Plaza (where the Christmas Tree and Ice Rink is in the winter). After that we headed back to the hotel and crashed.
