Blogust Day #1: Out with the Old!

Hey Prepsters!

Blogust

Today is officially the first day of Blogust! Hooray! For those of you who don’t know. Blogust basically means that y’all can expect a new post everyday in the month of August! Please bear with me; putting up consistent and quality posts is time consuming and want Classy Girl With Curls to be the absolute best that it can be (and not to mention I am slightly a perfectionist). So here goes nothing! If all goes well I will be doing Blog-o-ween and Blogmas! Fingers crossed!

Out with the Old Pic

This month I am working on bettering myself. At the end of this month I will be going back to school and I want my senior year of high school to be the best year ever. Don’t get me wrong; I really have enjoyed school. Honest. I just want this year to be the best. What’s my definition of “the best school year ever”? Let me explain. I want to go out with a bang. I want to leave a lasting impression on my peers, teachers, and community. I want radiate happiness, confidence, and kindness. This is no easy task; it will take work. One can not simply change their persona overnight. It is impossible. The process is gradual and steady. It takes drive and perseverance. However; I am up for the challenge.

Where do I start? How can I change? What do I do?!

CLEAN OUT

Throw it away. Get rid of all the negativity in your life. You don’t need it. Why would you surround yourself with people who tear you down? Find people who will lift you up in your darkest hours, people who will encourage you to accomplish your goals, and people to motivate you when you want to give up. For me, I cleaned out my room. I got rid of old clothes and junk that I never use. By getting rid of unnecessary clutter your mind has more room to focus on the important things. It feels like a weight is lifted off your shoulders.

START FRESH

Make goals. Write them down. Put it somewhere that you will see it everyday. This may sound stupid, but it will work- I promise! For example, I wrote down inspirational quotes on my dry erase board in my room. The quotes remind me of my goals and aid me in accomplishing them.

DON’T GIVE UP

Determine your own happiness. Nobody should stand in the way. Yes, sometimes it gets hard. I believe in you.

I wish you all the best in your journey towards a new and improved self.
